My work began from tension


I was drawn to men’s fashion, but rarely recognized myself in the images of masculinity that were often centred as aspirational. rulebound, overt, stoic - almost always eurocentric.


So I started making another kind of portrait: images that make room for beauty and sensuality that resist easy sorting.


Unlkly studio is a love letter and a rebuttal.
